Legal Awareness / Social Service Programme in Jaffna
Sri Lanka Women Lawyers' Association, with collaboration with Women In Need (WIN Jaffna) organized a legal awareness programme which was held on 18th December 2011, from 9.30 am to 2.30 pm, at T C T Hall, Navalar Road, Jaffna.The aim of this event was to address the legal issues particularly associated with Women in Jaffna and give them solutions for their day to day life. There were about 250 women were participated for this event.
The Chief Guest of this event was Ms.Imelda Sugumar (Government Agent- Jaffna) and the Guests of Honour were Ms.Yogeswary Patgunarajah (Mayor Municipal Council – Jaffna) , Ms.Shantha Abimanyu Singam (President Counsel) and Ms.Kosalai (Senior Lecturer Faculty of Law- Jaffna)
The principal sponsor of the event was Hatton National Bank PLC and Mr. Arumugam - Manager – Hatton National Bank PLC – Jaffna and Mr. Sasivarnan were also participated for this event. Hatton National Bank PLC has launched their first "Customer Charter Programme" for the public on the same occasion.
It was a very interactive programme.

The participants were asking questions. Also stated that "we thought that we are alone, but we now know that we are not"
