Awareness on Violence against Women and Girls and Prevention of Drug Abuse

SLWLA organised an awareness programme on Violence against Women and Girls and Prevention of Drug Abuse for the school children in grade 9-12 in Kumbukwewa Maha Vidyalaya in Kumbukgate in Kurunegala District on the 20th March 2024. SLWLA invited one of the leading Criminal Lawyers Mr.U.R.De Silva PC , Former President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka to address the children on the said important topics.

SLWLA also took initiative to have a session on Good Habits for the school children conducted by Past President, Senior Lawyer Mrs. Chathurika Wijesinghe,. At the invitation of SLWLA Tills were distributed through Bank of Ceylon , Kumbukgate and 250 nos of savings accounts were opened for the children followed by serving milk packets and buns to the children funded and supported by the members of Executive Committee of the SLWLA .
