National Law week
The Sri Lanka Women Lawyers Association (SLWLA) actively participated in the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) National Law Week, which took place on the 28th and 29th of September 2023 at Hulftsdorp Street. This event, which ran from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on each day, provided a platform for legal professionals and organizations to engage with the public and offer their expertise and services.
As invited by the BASL, the SLWLA set up a desk during the event to provide legal advice and assistance to members of the public. This desk served as a point of contact where individuals could seek guidance on various legal matters, ranging from family law issues to employment disputes, property concerns, and more.
The presence of the SLWLA at the National Law Week underscored the organization's commitment to promoting access to justice and supporting the community through legal advocacy. By offering their services at this event, the SLWLA demonstrated its dedication to empowering individuals with knowledge about their rights and legal options.
Through their participation, the Sri Lanka Women Lawyers Association contributed to the success of the BASL National Law Week, fostering greater awareness and understanding of legal issues among the public while also showcasing the valuable role that women lawyers play in the legal profession and in society as a whole.
