Purple Night 2023

"Purple Night 2023," an event organized by the Sri Lanka Women Lawyers' Association, took place at the BMICH on the 11th of November 2023, marking a significant gathering for the legal community in Sri Lanka.

The presence of esteemed dignitaries lent a prestigious air to the occasion. Honorable Chief Justice His Lordship Jayantha Jayasuriya PC graced the event as the Chief Guest, symbolizing the highest echelons of the legal fraternity's support for the cause championed by the SLWLA.

Among the notable attendees were Honorable Dr. Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe PC, Minister of Justice, Prisons Affairs, and Constitutional Reforms, along with Honorable M.U.M. Ali Sabry PC, Minister of Foreign Affairs.

The presence of Honorable Justice Madam Kumudini Wickremasinghe, a Judge of the Supreme Court and distinguished Past President, added further gravitas to the occasion.

Mr.U.R.De Silva PC, former President of the Bar Association graced the event as a Special Guest.

The event was also graced by distinguished Past Presidents of the SLWLA, who brought with them their wealth of experience and commitment to the association's mission.

Adding to the ambiance of the evening were the performances by the Redeemers, whose enchanting music filled the venue with a sense of celebration and camaraderie. Special mention goes to Yajish Tennakoon, Attorney-at-Law and whose eloquent compeering added a touch of charm and sophistication to the event.
