The Awareness Program/Workshop Held At C. W. W. Kannangara Maha Vidyalaya - Matugama On 19th September 2014
The above program was organized by the Sri Lanka Women Lawyers' Association in collaboration with the Lions Club of Matugama 306 A2. This occasion was graced by the Hon. Deputy District Governor, Lion Dr. D. D. N. Kaluarachchi as the Chief Guest and Lion Lady Dr. Mrs. Manel Kaluarachchi.
The aim of this event was to educate children between the age of 12-15 years and enlighten them on how to protect themselves from dangerous drugs and child abuse.
Two lecturers attached to the National Child Protection Authority and National Dangerous Drugs Control Board delivered two valuable lectures relating to the above mentioned topics and exhorted the children about the value of their parents' love and commitment in bringing them up amidst many difficulties and sacrifices
During the lectures and the discussions, the song
"Duwe Numba Mage Praanayai" along with an explicit visual, screened at the background, was very emotional and brought tears to the children's eyes.
