Purple Night - 2018

Purple Night - Dinner Dance 2018, a Fund Raiser was held for the 3rd consecutive year at the Banquet Hall of BMICH on the 7th July 2018. Hon. Chief Justice Priyasath Dep PC was the Chief Guest. Hon. Attorney General Jayantha Jayasuriya PC and Mrs. Jayasuriya, Former Chief Justice Hon. Mohan Peiris PC, Former Supreme Court Judge-Justice Madam Iva Wanasundera PC, Judge of the Court of Appeal/Distinguished Past President of SLWLA, Hon. Justice Kumudini Wickremaisnghe - Hon District Judges Aravinda Perera and Prashanth Silva, and Hon. Magistrate Rajindra Jayasuriya attended the event as Special Guests.

The Dinner Danced was commenced by lighting the oil lamp by the Chief Guest, honourable Judges, President Mrs. Sandhya Thalduwa, Office Bearers and the Past Presidents.

Past President Mrs. Bernie Alwis was appreciated by SLWLA for her contribution in particular to the association and to the legal fraternity and Hon. Chief Justice Priyasath Dep PC presented the plaque to her.

Music was provided by Anno Domini Band and the Dinner Dance was commenced with adance performance by the Office Bearers. Later, a stunning dance performance was presented by the Assistant Secretary, Ms. Ranusha Wijesinghe.

The main attraction of the event was crowning the "Purple Queen 2018" and Dancing competition, Baila Dancing competition were very much enjoyed by the members and the guests. After the dinner, Raffle Draw and Entrance Draw were held with gifts from Sponsors, Office Bearers and Committee members .

The entire event was compered by budding Lawyer Nimansa Thalduwa and Yajith Thennakoon, Attorney–at-Law

The members and the guests enjoyed themselves until the early morning hours to the enthralling music by Anno Domini
