Zoom webinar on “Issues affecting women during Covid-19 Pandemic
Covid – 19 has impacted the worldwide community as a whole. The widespread effect it has had on developing Countries, especially in the likes of Sri Lanka is astounding. However, has the pandemic affected us all on an equal footing, or has it had more of a gendered impact on women? There is no excuse to regress on gender equality on women’s vulnerability based on their social, economic and political situations.
Webinar on "ISSUES AFFECTING WOMEN DURING COVID-19 PANDEMIC " has been specifically curated to address the gender sensitive effect and challenges posed by the global Covid- 19 and its aftermath of the “woman” organised by SLWLA on the 19th of June 2021.
Prof.Thilini Rajapakshe, Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine, University of Peradeniya, Mrs. Marini De Livera, Attorney-at-Law and Mrs. Shymali Ranaraja , Attorney-at-Law, Visiting Lecturer, Department of Law, University of Peradeneiya were the speakers.
Ms.Aruni Gunasekera, Attorney-at-Law, Committee member moderated the event.
