International women’s day celebration on the 8th march 2022

SLWLA organized a ceremony to Facilitate Medical Professionals

This event was a great success and it was organized to commemorate International Women’s Day 2022. It was a felicitation programme to felicitate the medical professionals Island wide.

President, Ms.Ruchira Gunasekera and Ms. Chathurika Wijesinghe, Past President initiated and took the lead in organizing this event and assisted for finding sponsorship.

SLWLA was grateful to the women in Health Sector, Tri forces and Police Department. during this difficult time and thanked them at every level for the work they did collectively to manage this period on behalf of the communities and working tirelessly to help those affected by COVID-19.

Sri Lanka Women Lawyers Association under the leadership of President and the Committee, organized this Appreciation Ceremony on the International Women's Day, (8th March 2022) at the BMICH, Colombo for the women of the said institutions who work tirelessly during this COVID pandemic crisis.’

Hon.M.U.M.Ali Sabry PC, Ministry of Justice, former first lady Mrs.Shiranthi Rajapakshe graced the event as the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour respectively. Other participants who attended the event were Hon Justice Kumudini Wickremasinghe, Judge of the Supreme Court as a Special Guest, members from the Legal Fraternity and the Health Sector.
